That crossover matters, and it is worth reading carefully rather than dramatically. ISC leads on new listings because new identity programmes start in the cloud. IIQ still dominates installed base — the systems already running in production at HSBC, JP Morgan and Wells Fargo GCCs, at Deloitte and Accenture client sites, and across TCS, Infosys and Wipro delivery teams.

Published salary data does not yet separate SailPoint IdentityIQ and Identity Security Cloud roles cleanly, because most job descriptions list "SailPoint" as the skill. How Do IIQ Skills Transfer to ISC?

SailPoint IdentityIQ skills transfer to Identity Security Cloud at the concept level almost completely, and at the syntax level not at all. Aggregation, correlation, identity mapping, roles, policies, certifications and lifecycle events exist in both platforms under similar names. What changes is the mechanism: BeanShell rules become JSON transforms, custom workflows become cloud workflows, and direct connectors become sources reached through a Virtual Appliance.

That asymmetry is the whole career argument. Someone who knows IIQ can read an existing enterprise deployment, understand what it does, and rebuild it in ISC. Someone who only knows ISC cannot — and migration projects need the first person.
